Why do we assume that God is powerful enough to save us from our sins, but not powerful enough to fix our problems? Now that may seem like an overly radical statement but who do we usually turn to last to solve our problems? Far too often we see God as distant - but God is not distant. Often when we are able to finally fix our problems it is because God has provided us with the resource, whatever it may be, to fix said problem.
Over and over again I have read Psalm 40:28-31 which states that The Lord is the everlasting God who does not grow tired, who does not grow weary, but he gives strength to those who are. But far too often we find ourselves looking for our own solution, rather than trusting God to take care of it. I'm yet to see God fail, and I fully believe that I never will.
Why do bad things happen to good people? "...So that the work of God may be displayed in that person's life." John 9:3 (context - it's the story man who was born blind that Jesus healed, I highly encourage you to read it.)
