"Well I'm just not called to that..."

Far too often people state that they don't feel God calling them to do something when it's really just a cop out for something that they don't want to do. There is a good chance that God is calling you to something that you don't want to do; and if he isn't right now then he will be one day. I've noticed this a lot lately, in myself as well as others. However, I'm not saying God is calling you to pick up biochemistry and find the cure for millions of diseases. There is plenty of times where God has called people to do things they didn't want to do, and things have come out for the best.

One of my favorite passages from the Bible are the passage where God tells Abraham to take Isaac, his only son, up to Mount Moriah and to build and altar and sacrifice him as a burnt offering (Genesis 22:1-19). I can guarantee you that Abraham did not want to do that. We know that God provided a ram to take the place of Isaac, Abraham went up to the mountain fully expecting to sacrifice his son. Verse 10 of the passage states that Abraham had his hand raised and the knife ready to kill his son, until an angel interfered (verse 11).

So what if Abraham were to have said well I just don't feel God calling me to this? God isn't asking us our opinion on his will, he is asking for us to love him. We do that through submission.
