I'm Pissed!

I haven't been this mad about something in a while.

Today I was in Wanda's just hanging out before class, and as usual they were airing Fox news, figures conservative campus conservative news station. There was a story about a teacher telling her 8 year old students that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny do not exist, and the only thing they can truly believe in is God. They continued to discuss if this teacher should be terminated or how she should be disciplined for this action. Seriously? Only in America would we punish someone for telling the kids the truth. We are encouraging lying here by telling them that Santa and the Easter Bunny exist. We are lying about history, since we are informing children that the reason for Christmas is that Santa is going to come and bring them present for being good kids, and I'm not even sure why you would even bother to celebrate Easter without the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. In addition to that in this society by the age of 8 I am pretty sure most kids are getting to the point where they don't believe that a fat man comes into your house in the middle of the night and puts things in your house. As children we're told not to take candy from strangers, but it's okay to let a fat man in our house and put whatever he wants in there. I find that strange. As well as it's okay for him to watch us while we're sleeping, and know when we're awake. Santa is pretty much a glorified pedophile. 

Okay now lets get to the giant bunny that hides eggs around your yard. That sounds like borderline terrorism, as well as another taking candy from strangers moment. Who knows what's in these eggs, but if they're from a giant bunny it's okay. 

In essence these ideas make Christmas and Easter extremely introverted holidays, it becomes all about presents and self. They are both about a gift and presence, but not anything that gives us glory. Christmas and Easter are in no way about us. 

Without Jesus Christ Christmas and Easter mean ABSOLUTELY nothing! 

How can you look outside of your window and deny the existence of God? It doesn't make sense. 

I've never seen evangelism more important than I do now.
