God is glorious

What if when you get to Heaven and finally experience the wonder and glory of God and it is nothing like you expected? What if you thoughts about God looking like an old grandfather figure with a gnarly beard is wrong? I hope it is.

It's funny to think of the Biblical passages that speak of people's encounter with God. When Moses came down from Mount Sinai he face shined because of spending time in the presence of God. In Exodus 33 Moses asks God to let him see his glory. God allows him to see the place where he just was, because anything more would kill him. In the Biblical description that we see of angels they have 6 wings. Two to cover their feet, two to fly, and the last two to cover their face. Their face is covered because even they cannot look upon the glory of God. 

When I finally get to heaven and experience the wonder, glory and splendor of the creator and sustainer of all things, or that I will just fall on my knees in worship. The point of the glorified body is so that our signs and marks of sin will be removed and that we will finally be able to be in complete union with YHWH. I'm stoked.
