Mr. Lennon, who do you think you are?

"Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn't argue about that. I'm right and will be proved right. We're more popular than Jesus now; I don't know which will go first, rock 'n' roll or Christianity. Jesus was all right, but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It's them twisting it that ruins it for me."
-John Lennon

Mr. Lennon, who do you think you are?

One of my biggest reasons for not liking John Lennon. I just really wanted to respond to this quote, even though he said it over 30 years ago. I find it really funny that Lennon put it upon himself to state that Christianity would die out, first of Christianity dates back to just under 2000 years ago. Well in our limited world view. Biblically it was always there.  John 1:1 states this with "In the Beginning was the Word and the Word was God and the Word was with God." Every time I hear John Lennon's quote I think that of the Audio Adrenaline song called "Never Gonna Be As Big As Jesus." I am pretty sure that this was written as a direct stab at the Beatles and John Lennon. Which I am completely okay with.

This blog is not about John Lennon though. It's about what John Lennon expressed here. We think that we are bigger that God. We have the audacity to say that we can define when live begins. We think so highly of ourselves that we can decide when a life becomes valuable. We dare to say that we know better than the Almighty, everlasting God.

We dare to say that in the beginning of time than we would have done it better than the all knowing all powerful creator. Example: "Well if I was God then I would have done it differently."

In 1 Corinthians 2:8-10 we see the exact opposite of this portrayed. There is no way that we can know what God has prepared for us and have done it better.

America, who do you think you are?

Creation, who do you think you are?
